When you think of the name, Karl Lagerfeld, a lot of things come to mind. Impecable embroidery, perhaps Chanel’s latest collection, or lust the idea of an iconic designer. One thing you don’t really think of, are sneakers, designed for skateboarders. But nonetheless, Karl Lagerfeld, fashion legend, just announced that he will be doing a collaboration with everyone’s favorite skate shoe brand, Vans. And they will be launching this collaboration September 7th, just in time for Fashion Month!
Vans has paired up with many different brands in recent, from Thrasher, to Opening Ceremony, and Marc Jacobs, the brand is constantly creating amazing limited edition products with unexpected brands, and re-inventing different ways to wear their shoes.
While no product images have been released as of yet, we do have an idea of what is in store for the new collaboration. We will be given some revamped versions of the classic Sk8-Hi laceless platform and Old Skool laceless style sneakers, as well as getting a number of entirely new and original products created specifically for the capsule collection. The collection is made up of six pieces, prices ranging from $40-$300 dollars. The capsule will be presented at the Bread & Butter trade show in Berlin in the month of September, and will be available for international purchase in Karl Lagerfeld boutiques internationally and a few of Vans’s stores, as well as each brands’ online store.
With talk of a quilted leather, checkerboard shoe, and tee shirts with Karl Lagerfeld’s face on them, I cannot wait for images to be revealed to the public. I’m sure this will be a collaboration that can be used in a variety of different styles, and I have no doubt we’ll see interesting outfits created from these items!
