Gucci’s relationship with Millennials and the internet world continues. After the #TFWGUCCI project dedicated to the world of watches, young illustrator Angelica Hicks begins a new collaboration with the Florentine maison. Alessandro Michele, creative director of Gucci, discovered Hicks’s works on Instagram and was immediately fascinated by his artistic approach and ironic tone. From this meeting was born a collection of limited edition unisex t-shirts.

To celebrate this collaboration, Gucci also unveils the continuation of its Art Wall. Last February, Gucci presented his first murals signed by Jayde Fish on Lafayette Street in Soho, New York. Today the Gucci Art Wall project is now expanded with two new illustrations by Angelica Hicks that were presented on May 8th: the former occupies the same space as the previous murals in Manhattan, while the latter is on a Milan wall in Largo la Foppa and portrays two young Gucci girls freaks & geeks. This space will host the illustration for 2 months, and will continue to host hosting various specialty art projects by the end of the year.

The works, reproduced in New York by Colossal Media and Milan by the European leader in out-of-home publicity Urban Vision, express the beauty and uniqueness of outdoor advertising that transforms into a hand-painted artwork.

To enrich the project, a Snapchat geo-filter created by Angelica Hicks is available in New York near the murals.

  • Being 23, I see the world in a different way- in love with fashion and culture from a young age. I was born in a multicultural family in Italy, that promotes the love for beauty in every field, from the food to the fine arts. This encouraged me to cultivate my hobbies, my passions and not to be afraid of the unknown. My motto is “The future you see is the future you get. “ Chasing my dreams has always been a constant in my life. This played a big part of me moving to NYC. I can only hope to become the next Giovanna Battaglia one day. During my free time, I explore wines, tacos, and my love for avocados.
