Louis Vuitton’s partnership with Supreme was exciting, but the French luxury brand’s next collaboration might top it. LV is partnering with pop artist Jeff Koons on a limited line of accessories, inspired by Koons’ “Gazing Ball” paintings.
This collection has prints from several iconic masterpieces from renowned artists, such as da Vinci, Titian, Rubens, Fragonard, and Van Gogh, splashed across bags like the Speedy, the Neverfull, and the Keepall. The name of the artist is featured across the front of each bag.
As the biggest name to date, Koons is making history in Louis Vuitton’s collaborations. He is the first collaborator that has had his initials face opposite LV’s monogram in the same style. His signature inflatable rabbit also replaces LV’s standard tag.
Louis Vuitton’s release promised “further chapters” later on, so we’ll all be looking forward to future stages of the collaboration. The line will be released April 28th in selected Louis Vuitton stores, but will unfortunately not be available online. Who am I kidding, I wouldn’t have been able to afford the pieces anyway, but hey, a girl can dream.
