Miami, FL. Feb. 16, 2024/ In just a mere 100 days since gracing the vibrant Wynwood neighborhood in Miami, Wanitta, the Colombian ethical fashion store, has become a beacon of success, drawing buyers from 38 countries and establishing itself as a key player in the US market.
Wanitta, a multi-brand store dedicated to championing Colombian entrepreneurs, has achieved remarkable success, averaging two products sold per hour during its initial 9 weeks of operation. This underscores the burgeoning demand for ethical Colombian brands in the fiercely competitive US market.
A pivotal strategy in Wanitta’s expansion has been the Wanitta Partners’ co-investment model, fostering collaboration to consolidate its presence in strategic Florida locations, with plans for two additional stores in the pipeline. This innovative approach has attracted investors who align with the business vision and ethics driving Colombian brands.
Mark your calendars for February 22, as Wanitta prepares to host the inaugural “Wanitta Latin Vibes – Wynwood” event, unveiling two prestigious Colombian brands to enhance its exclusive offerings.
Official figures from Wanitta’s team reveal that 70% of buyers hail from various countries, including France, Italy, Japan, Brazil, Spain, Germany, and various Latin American nations. The remaining 30% comprises locals exploring Wynwood, drawn in by the area’s culinary delights and unique shopping experiences.
Wanitta’s strategic decision to introduce its creations in the United States aligns with a favorable trend for Colombian micro-businesses, capitalizing on the increasing American consumer appreciation for ethical and sustainable fashion. The collaboration with multinational Seguros Sura has provided crucial support for the brand’s internationalization.
Mónica Agudelo, Co-Founder and Chief Growth Officer of Wanitta, expressed her gratitude to Miami and the United States for the warm reception. She stated, “Since we began operations 100 days ago, we sell on average 1.6 items per hour, and each purchase contributes to the support of 21 national companies that market their products in the physical store.”
With aspirations for continued expansion through the Wanitta Partners model, Agudelo emphasizes, “With this model, we have three purposes: to bring Colombian fashion to the rest of the world, promote entrepreneurship, and democratize investment.”
The Wanitta Latin Vibes – Wynwood event will not only showcase new brands but also feature the musical prowess of Good Dello, known as Clave de Dos, two violinist brothers based in Medellín, Colombia. Their fusion of violins with electronic sounds promises a unique auditory experience.
Founded in Colombia in 2005, Wanitta has evolved into an innovative force in ethical fashion, boasting seven physical stores in Colombia and its inaugural international store in Wynwood, Miami. Through its commitment to innovation, lifestyle, and female empowerment, Wanitta continues to illuminate the heart of Miami’s art and culture.
