The Brazilian superstar brings fashion, culture, and performance together on one of the world’s biggest stages.
As the FIFA World Cup 2026 officially kicks off in the United States, one of the most unforgettable moments of the opening ceremony belongs to Brazilian global sensation Anitta. Performing the tournament’s official anthem, “Goals,” alongside K-pop superstar LISA and Nigerian Afrobeats artist Rema, Anitta captivated audiences not only with her performance but also with a breathtaking custom-designed look by H&M Studio.

A Look Designed for a Global Stage
For an event watched by millions around the world, Anitta collaborated closely with the H&M Studio design team and celebrity stylist Janelle Miller to create an outfit that perfectly balanced athletic inspiration, Brazilian heritage, and high-fashion glamour.
The performance began with Anitta making a dramatic entrance wearing a hooded cape inspired by the robes worn by championship boxers before entering the ring. The statement piece instantly established a sense of power and theatricality.
“When I walk out on that stage, I want it to be a moment,” Anitta shared. “The cape brings that theatrical, almost epic feeling. It’s like, she’s here! It also has this warrior energy that I really connect with.”
Sport Meets Glamour
Underneath the cape, the singer wore a modern all-white ensemble featuring a wraparound crop top with sheer sleeves and bold cutout details. The look was completed with striking white chaps adorned with rhinestone-covered cargo pockets, creating a fresh interpretation of sporty luxury.
Crystal embellishments elevated the outfit even further through a dazzling belt with cascading chains and a matching rhinestone harness that sparkled under the stadium lights.
According to stylist Janelle Miller, the creative direction blended the vibrant spirit of Brazil’s Carnival with superhero aesthetics and contemporary performance fashion.
“The attitude, the energy—it’s all Brazil,” Miller explained. “Even if you’ve never been to Brazil, I want you to feel what it’s like to be Brazilian in that moment.”

Fashion Built for Performance
Beyond aesthetics, movement played a critical role in the design process. Known for her energetic choreography, Anitta emphasized the importance of creating a look that could move naturally with her throughout the performance.
“I dance a lot, so the look needs to work with my body,” she said.
The result was a costume that delivered both visual impact and functional performance—essential qualities for one of the world’s most watched sporting events.
Continuing a Successful Partnership
The collaboration marks another milestone in Anitta’s ongoing partnership with H&M, having previously fronted multiple campaigns for the global fashion retailer over the past year.
“When this epic moment came up for Anitta to perform, it made total sense to create something together with H&M,” said Miller.
For Anitta, the partnership extends beyond style.
“I love that their fashion is accessible to everyone,” she explained. “That matters a lot to me.”

Representing Brazil on the World Stage
For the Brazilian icon, performing at the FIFA World Cup opening ceremony was more than another career achievement—it was an opportunity to proudly represent her country before a global audience.
“It’s surreal, honestly,” Anitta said. “I’m so happy and honored to be able to represent my country in something this big.”
She added that confidence starts with feeling comfortable in what you wear.
“When you love your look, everything changes.”
With a performance that celebrated music, fashion, and Brazilian culture, Anitta once again proved why she remains one of today’s most influential global style icons, delivering a memorable fashion moment that perfectly matched the excitement of the FIFA World Cup 2026.
