After a series of high-profile teasers, Zara x Benito Antonio is finally official
At this year’s Super Bowl halftime performance, Bad Bunny wore a white tailored shirt and pants, topped off with a matching football jersey, not from any luxury fashion label but from the affordable retailer Zara. Then, at the Met Gala earlier this month, he paired his prosthetic makeup with a black suit and shirt embellished with a big pussy bow at the neck, also from Zara. Ever since, rumors have been flying that there was something brewing between the Puerto Rican musician and the Spanish retail giant. And a pop-up in San Juan this weekend just confirmed them.

After those high-profile teasers, Bad Bunny officially announced the exclusive clothing collection titled Zara x Benito Antonio (his real name). The 150-piece capsule was developed by Zara, Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, and his longtime creative director Janthony Oliveras. This weekend’s event at the Plaza Las Américas mall in San Juan, at which the musician himself made a surprise appearance, launched the collaboration in his home country. Though access is currently limited to Puerto Rico, the capsule will be available to shop in the US starting May 21, as confirmed by a teaser Zara posted to its official Instagram.
The first images of the collection dropped this morning, teasing what the range would look like. The pieces evoke Bad Bunny’s distinctive identity and style, recognized for its eclectic mix of preppy basics, formal tailoring, and casual streetwear. From what we can glean from the pop-up and first photos, the offering features a range of everyday streetwear staples to oversize suits. Photos depict items like striped shirting, knee-length shorts, and baseball caps—essentials of the star’s everyday uniform.

The news follows a series of fast fashion collabs somewhat like this one. In March alone, Zara announced a two-year creative partnership with renowned designer John Galliano and a collaboration with the New York-based Willy Chavarria. April saw the releases of Old Navy x Christopher John Rogers and H&M x Stella McCartney. But this one is different in that it is a musician, albeit one with very strong fashion inclinations, versus a designer. A partnership with an affordable fashion retailer does, however, align with the message the Puerto Rican superstar often champions, one of inclusivity and accessibility. And of course, he launched the collection in Puerto Rico first. Now, we’re just excited to see—and shop—the clothes.
